The Cleaning Services team performs daily cleaning throughout the university to maintain a clean and safe environment for everybody.
55 members of staff are responsible for the cleaning of all academic buildings and sports facilities. They work closely with departments to ensure additional cleaning is fulfilled if required. The campus team also manages the waste and recycling.
All staff are trained to British Institute of Cleaning Science standards to ensure high quality service. The team is also a member of the British Association of Cleaning in Higher Education and have been nominated for many awards over the past few years. In 2011 they won the Sustainability and Best value awards.
In 2017 Aston University was awarded the accolade of hosting the British Association of Cleaning in Higher Education 2018 Conference.

Andrew Keogh joined us in March 2014 and is responsible for ensuring the cleaning team deliver an excellent cleaning service to all areas of the University, ensuring all the team are trained and developed to British institute of Cleaning Science. Andrew has been working in higher education for 20 years providing cleaning services to academic areas and sports facilities.

Helen has been part of Aston University for fifteen years working within accommodation and Aston Business school with the housekeeping departments. She has been part of Cleaning services since 2007 and manages a team of 50 staff as a Cleaning Supervisor, ensuring her team delivers the highest possible standard of service.
