The Engineering team is responsible for managing the electrical and mechanical infrastructure at Aston. This includes all of the wiring, plumbing, heating and ventilation and other internal systems which run the buildings. Its also responsible for energy, regulatory requirements and the Building Management System.

The work of the Engineering team is crucial for ensuring that past and future developments are safe and functional as well as energy efficient.


Staff Profiles

Adam started this role in October 2012, having previously worked as an Engineering Consultant within the private sector. Adam deals with the electrical issues on site including lighting and emergency lighting, lifts and electrical distribution. He also works closely with Andrew to reduce the University’s electricity consumption.

Chris joined the Estates Team in February 2012. In his current role, he is responsible for ensuring the University is compliant in several areas including water hygiene and pressurised vessels. Chris also looks after the operation and maintenance of the University Building Energy Monitoring System (BEMS) which controls and monitors the heating and ventilation systems on site.
