Part 1.2: The Chancellor 

 
1.2.1 

The Chancellor shall be appointed for an initial term of five years and shall be eligible for reappointment for such period as may be agreed subject to the provisions of 2.12 of these Ordinances.

 
1.2.2

 The Chancellor shall be appointed by the Convocation on the joint recommendation of the Council and the Senate. Prior to making the recommendation to Convocation, the Council and Senate shall consider a report from the Nominations Committee.

 
1.2.3

The Chancellor may resign in writing addressed to the Convocation.

 
1.2.4 The Chancellor shall be the Chief Officer of the University, shall preside over meetings of its Convocation and shall confer Degrees.
