What we spend and how we spend it

The current University Strategy. 'Forward to 2020' sets out the University's mission and the vision for its development over the next decade. The University has an ambitious and exciting Development Plan for the University Estate.

The University publishes Financial Statements every year. These contain details of funding, income, expenditure and investment, as well as budgetary and account information and the auditors' report.

The University Governance and Financial Regulations govern the management and administration of the University's financial resources.

Information about staff costs and some salaries is included in the Financial Statements. University Salary Scales are published.

The University's Purchasing Policies and Procedures govern how we conduct the purchasing of new services and goods.  The University advertises a large number of contracts throughout the year. More information about contract opportunities, including contracts currently available for public tender, is on Aston University's Procurement Services' Supplier Zone. Where the value of a procurement/contract is in excess of £100,000, the University is obliged by EU Procurement Directives to publish a contract award notice in the Journal of the European Union (OJEU). These notices can be accessed via the SIMAP website. Further information about University contracts is available on request.

The University maintains a database of approved contractors and suppliers. These include suppliers who have done business with the University in the past and who are currently engaged in business with the University. Because of its size, and the fact that it is subject to continual change, the database is not made publicly available.
