Why did you choose Aston University? When I applied for university, Aston scored well on the league tables overall and for my course. I liked the CDIO modules of the course which promoted an iterative design process for product development.
What did you enjoy about your course? The students on the course were a treat to work with, but also modules such as CDIO which encouraged creativity and allowed one to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications.
What advice would you give to current Aston students? In your free time, learn a programming language like python, and software packages likeMatlab, labview and strive for a good foundation of electronics knowledge to give a real turbo boost to your career. Utilise summers and free time for work placements (even if voluntary) to give yourself a feel for what you enjoy, but also what you don’t enjoy and give you an edge amongst your peers. Finally -travel, travel as much as you can.
