Aston University welcomed into CFA Institute University Affiliation Program
Students on the MSc Finance course taking steps to career success through preparation for the CFA Program
Aston University has become the latest university to be welcomed into the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program. The MSc Finance course has been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the program. This course positions students well to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, which has become the most respected and recognized investment credential in the world.
Entry into the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program signals to potential students, employers, and the marketplace that the Aston curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations. Through participation in this program, Aston is eligible to receive a limited number of student scholarships for the CFA Program each year.
Aston’s MSc Finance coursecovers a broad range of topics, including financial derivatives, investment management, asset valuation, financial econometrics and corporate finance. Students learn to appreciate the complex environment organisations operate within as well as how this can impact businesses financially. The course helps students to develop a critical awareness and understanding of contemporary issues and theories relating to investments, financial instruments and corporate finance.
