Syed joined Aston University as Lecturer in Finance (Teaching) after finishing his doctoral studies. His research interests include corporate liquidity and risk management, corporate governance, debt structure, and distress risk. Recently, Syed published in CABS 3 rated journal.

Syed earned PhD in Finance from the University of Nottingham. During his graduate studies, he has taught postgraduate (including postgraduate research) and undergraduate courses on corporate finance, risk management, investment and portfolio management, managerial finance, introduction to finance, computational finance, and quantitative methods at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University.
