Aston Law School is delighted to confirm the appointment of Lord Lloyd-Jones as the first Honorary President of Aston Student Law Society. Lord Lloyd-Jones is a Justice of the UK Supreme Court, a positon he has held since October 2017, and is the first Justice of the Court to come from Wales.
Lord Lloyd-Jones will visit Aston Law School on 31 January 2020 to deliver the Honorary President’s Lecture – a talk which will enable students to learn more about Lord Lloyd-Jones’ career and his experiences as a Supreme Court Justice. He will also speak to students involved with Aston Law Clinic and pro bono initiatives.
Aston Law School’s Director of Employability, Adam Shaw-Mellors, comments: “We are delighted Lord Lloyd-Jones has accepted our invitation to be the first Honorary President of our Student Law Society and we look forward to welcoming him to Aston University. His appointment follows his earlier generosity when judging our mooting final at the Supreme Court in 2019.”
