SME business leaders can discover more about positive psychology and its effects on organisational change with a free event hosted by Aston Business School.
Jamil Qureshi, who has worked with world number one golfer Rory McIlroy and renowned author and columnist Professor Adrian Furnham will be speaking at the event at Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens on 28 January, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm.
These inspirational speakers will both provide unique insights into theories and practical approaches to using positive psychology within the business arena and within their own organisations.
Jamil Qureshi, a foremost practitioner of performance enhancing psychology and an expert in high performing teams will share a practical understanding of ‘How to create positive change through obtaining different outlooks and perspectives’. The session will include techniques used by the world’s elite sports and business people.
Professor Adrian Furnham, a Professor of Psychology from University College London will share his views on positive psychology in SMEs, interweaving three themes: managing change in turbulent times, motivation in the workplace and the psychology of money. Professor Furnham is a well-respected author, newspaper columnist and a regular contributor to radio and television stations including the BBC, CNN and ITV.
The Positive Psychology event forms part of Aston University’s Transformation for Growth project which is supported through the European Regional Development Fund and provides support to aspiring SMEs in the region who have a vision for growth.
Project leader Dr Michael Butler, a Reader in Transformational Change at Aston University, will host the event, which will also be attended by project partner Birmingham City Council. Event partners include theInstitute of Directors, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Women in Business Association and Birmingham Law Society.
