The growth of Majestic over the last 5 years has been recognised through being listed in the prestigious ‘Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50’ which is one of the UK's foremost technology award programmes. Now in its seventeenth successful year, it is a ranking of the UK's 50 fastest growing technology companies, based on revenue growth over the last five years.
Majestic is in the top three companies in the West Midlands in this listing and 17th in the UK as a whole, making the company one of the fastest growing technology companies in the country. Majestic is seeking to maintain this growth and recently started a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Aston Business School to underpin this.
One of the world’s leaders in distributed web crawling, Majestic has launched a ground-breaking specialist search engine to categorise the entire World Wide Web. It is designed to continuously web crawl and record links between different websites. Over seven hundred billion web pages are filtered into 800 topics to enable easy analysis and comparison. The search engine is multi- lingual and enables analysis of the web to be fully automated. Majestic’s index is the largest commercially available link index available, globally.
Based at the Innovation Birmingham Campus, Majestic has expanded the size of its office to over 3,000 sq ft, to accommodate its growing team, and in five years the web index creator’s turnover has grown by over 1,500%.
The KTP project with Aston Business School aims to introduce a suite of innovative big data tools, known as Majestic Analytics. These will allow non- programmers to draw previously unavailable inference and insight from large data sets of internet usage and company orientated data. The interfaces will be sold commercially, allowing companies to improve their digital marketing efforts by more accurately profiling and better understanding clients.
Dixon Jones, Marketing Director of Majestic commented “Our Company has experienced considerable growth because we are passionate about creating brand new technology for a global audience. We are really pleased to be working in partnership with Aston Business School and being able to access the expertise available at Aston to help us develop our business further”.
