Careers Advice

Join a small group tutorial with advice on structure, presentation and content for an outstanding CV.

Perfect for first year students but open to all.

Book a careers consultant appointment for answers to your careers-related questions, guidance with your plans and help to explore your options through Aston Futures.

You can book a meeting with an Aston University careers consultant at any time as a research student at Aston, and for up to 3 years after completion. Careers meetings of up to 1 hour can be used to help you explore options after your research studies, identify potential employers and opportunities, develop your application skills, and prepare for interviews and assessment centres.

Placement advice

The dedicated placement coordinator for your College will help you with placement search advice, CV feedback and practical preparation for an interview or assessment centre.

Available to 2nd year students and 3rd year students on placement

If you are on an MEng course and seeking a placement year before your final year, you can book your placements advice appointment at the Careers+Placements reception desk

Advice on casual & temporary jobs & volunteering

If you are interested in applying for casual or temporary work or volunteering, get help with your applications by booking an appointment with the Jobshop, located just outside the Careers+Placements Centre (SW105).

Preparing for an appointment

If your appointment is in relation to your CV, make sure you take a look at our CV checklist in advance. If you don't prepare for your appointment, you may be asked to re-book in order to gain maximum benefit.
