We're here to help - how to access Careers+Placements support
We wanted to bring you some clarity about how you can access Careers+Placements support in this uncertain time.
The first thing to let you know is that we're not currently running face-to-face events, sessions or appointments, because we want to make sure we're doing our bit to help keep everyone safe. Our service offering might look a little bit different to what you're used to, but one thing hasn't changed, we're still committed to helping you with your careers planning.
There's a lot we can do to support you remotely, have a little read of the below...
Book a phone or Skype appointment on Aston Futures
Even though you might not be able to book a face-to-face appointment, you can still take advantage of our virtual service. The team are working hard to ensure they are still able to support you in the same ways they did on-campus with careers and placement advice. These appointments are available on Aston Futures, so head over and get yours booked.
Join our webinars
Although we’re not running face-to-face events at the minute, we still have a range of webinars taking place which we’d love you to join us for. Head over to Aston Futures to see everything relevant to you and book your place.
Use our online resources
If you're currently exploring ways to gain work experience, land a placement or secure a graduate role, it's important to be as prepared as possible for the process ahead. To help you get there, we have a host of online resources right here on our C+P webpages to help with everything from drafting your first CV to nailing an assessment centre. We also subscribe to a range of online tools so that you can attempt a psychometric test, or give a video interview a go. Practice makes perfect after all! We’ve also seen some great articles written by external organisations on how you can prepare for your future from the safety of your own home and we’ve collated some of the most useful links and resources we’ve seen so far in one place to make it easier for you to access this information.
Get your video interview skills polished
We're getting feedback from the employers that we work with that they're doing more and more video interviews... for obvious reasons. Video interviews can be awkward and scary, but it doesn't have to be that way. The more you practise, the more comfortable you become. To help you get prepped, we've got LaunchPad, an online tool that helps you get to grips to video interviewing.
