Health, Safety and Insurance

On a work placement it is your employers responsibility to ensure your safety. Your employer should provide you with access to the organisation’s health and safety policy, but it is your responsibility to read it. Download the Health and Safety pdf to find out everything you need to know.

Whether it's for work or a Study Abroad placement, you need insurance if you are heading overseas. Aston University has basic cover in place, but we recommend you take out extra insurance - especially if you plan to take part in adventurous sports.

Throughout your placement you’ll need to check in regularly for news and updates, including details about your final year.

Keep in touch with your tutor - they'll let you know if you need to organise a visit as part of your course.

If you are an international student, you must contact us on a regular basis to check in. Email placementsupport@aston.ac.uk

Everything you need is on your Blackboard placement module so have a good look through.
