One-to-one Study Skills Tutorials

Your appointment will be with a Learning Development Advisor (LDA), all of whom are experienced in teaching and providing academic support. Attending a tutorial can help you improve your study skills, prepare for an upcoming assignment and improve exam strategies

Each tutorial usually last 30 minutes and needs to be booked in advance. There is no limit on the number of tutorials you can book. The final tutorial of the day will finish at 4pm.

If you are a distance learner, an online learner or a placement student, you are able to receive advice from one of our advisors through an email tutorial, skype appointment or telephone. Please use the contact details below to access online advice.

The tutorial is strictly confidential - we only keep records for monitoring purposes. We provide one-to-one tutorials to develop your study skills in a range of areas including:

One-to-One Tutorials can cover a variety of academic issues, including: 

  • Academic writing

  • Critical reading and thinking skills

  • Note-making

  • Planning, drafting and editing assignments

  • Referencing and avoiding plagiarism

  • Strategies for improving proofreading skills

  • Improving revision and/or exam strategies

  • Any other academic related issues.
