Term Time Events

At the Aston University Martin Luther King Multi-Faith Centre, we organise events for the enjoyment of students and staff in order to enrich their experience of the University. We work closely with the University, Aston Student Village, the Students' Union and the faith based student societies to support the wellbeing of staff and students.

All events, unless stated otherwise, are free of charge.

Monday Buddhist Meditation 1st and 3rd Monday of the month in term time 12:30pm - 1:30pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Event Space) Buddhist meditation sessions run by our Buddhist Chaplain Ven. Sramner Terjwant.

Tuesday Quiet Time weekly in term time 1:30pm - 3:30pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Luther Room) Space for all students and staff for quiet reflection and meditation.

Wednesday Laughter Yoga weekly in term time 12:30pm - 1:30pm Aston Student’s Union Laughter Yoga is a new twist on an ancient practice. Not only does it increase happiness, but it strengthens the immune system, reduces pain and stress. More contagious than a cough or a sneeze, Laughter relaxes the whole body. It triggers the release of endrophins, promoting overall sense of wellbeing.
Wednesday Story 4 Thought weekly in term time 2:30pm - 3:30pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Event Space) "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you" - (Maya Angelou) An opportunity to share a story with others over a drink and biscuits and to think, reflect and discuss.
Wednesday Pizza and Games weekly in term time 4:00pm - 6:00pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Event Space) Enjoy pizzas and soft drinks, meet people and make new friends.
Thursday Christian Prayer and Reflection weekly in term time 12:30pm - 1:30pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Luther Room) Weekly prayer and reflection led by our Christian Chaplains.
Thursday Quiet Time weekly in term time 1:30pm - 3:30pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Luther Room) Space for all students and staff for quiet reflection and meditation
Thursday Knit and Knatter weekly in term time 3:00pm - 5:00pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Event Space) An opportunity for knitters of all ages and levels of experience to get together informally for refreshments and a knit and knatter.
Friday Listening Ear weekly in term time 11:00am - 1:00pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Luther Room) Listening ear is a pastoral support drop-in service in the Martin Luther King Multi-Faith Centre. It offers support for students regardless of religious affiliation.
Friday Muslim Reflection and Discussion weekly in term time 1:30pm - 3:30pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Event Space) An opportunity for Muslim students to take time out and reflect, followed by a brief discussion on their reflections.
Friday  Reflexology or Indian Head Massage (20 minute appointments) 2nd Friday of the month in term time 1:30pm - 4:00pm Martin Luther-King Multi-Faith Centre (Luther Room) Relax with a free Indian Head massage or a Reflexology session with Chaplian Rob Stacey, a qualified therapist.
