The Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Steve Agg, visited Aston last week to present a plaque to Professor Ed Sweeney, Head of the Engineering Systems and Management (ESM) group here at Aston University, marking the establishment of a partnership between the two parties. CILT recognises that programmes provided by ESM are practically relevant to industry.
CILT is the world's leading professional body In the supply chain field, with its long history (CILT traces its origins back to 1919 and was granted its Royal Charter in 1926) it is a very reputable institute. The accreditation body offers many benefits such as continuing professional development, access to materials such as the knowledge base, notifications of events and most importantly networking; which is essential to employability. Here at Aston University our Logistics and Transport courses are accredited by CILT and upon graduation students are eligible for CILT fellow membership (FCILT).
