Peter entered Aston University via a non-traditional academic route and he was also the first in his immediate family to attend a university. His preference would have been to study Electrical or Electronic Engineering but circumstances necessitated him accepting sponsorship for a Mechanical Engineering course. He faced some academic challenges but he persevered and graduated in 1968.
After he graduated, changing market requirements for his employer meant that Peter was able to move slowly into his preferred field of Electronic Engineering. Peter went on to enjoy a multifaceted forty year career in the aerospace industry, both here in the U.K. and then subsequently in Canada where he now lives. In 2010 he established a bursary in his name to help support students who share his passion for engineering.
