SNAP project wins a big EPSRC research grant

Professor Misha Sumetsky has been awarded a £916,000 EPSRC research grant for the Surface Nanoscale Axial Photonics (SNAP) project.

SNAP is a recently invented revolutionary micro/nanophotonic platform being developed at the Aston Institute of Photonics Technologies (AIPT). SNAP considers slow propagation of whispering gallery modes in an optical fibre. Misha, the principal investigator for this project, joined AIPT in 2013. He holds a Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award.
