I am a Lecturer in Computer Science in Aston University (since May 2013). Before joining Aston, I was a Marie Curie Fellow at INRIA Paris-Rocquencourt , France (May 2011- May 2013) under the  EU Marie-Curie Fellowship (Grant) called Requirements@run.time: Requirements-aware Systems. I am also a  Visiting Researcher at Lancaster University (May 2011 – May 2015). Before, I was lecturer and researcher in the Computing School at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. More info can be found at  www.nellybencomo.me

  • PhD in Computing, Lancaster University, March 2008
  • MSc in Software Engineering, Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), (honourable mention) 1998
  • Five-year Bachelor in Computing Science, Computing School, Universidad Central de Venezuela, 1993

  • 2013 May – Present, Lecturer in Computer Science, Aston University, UK
  • 2011 May – May 2013, Marie Curie Fellow, INRIA, Paris-Rocquencourt, France
  • 2008 April – April 2011, Senior Research Associate, Lancaster University
  • 2006 – March 2008, Research Associate, Lancaster University
  • 2003 – 2006, Teaching Assistant, Lancaster University
  • 1997 – 2003,  Lecturer, Computing School, Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV)

Currently, I am teaching:

  • CS3360, DC3360 and CS4860 Software Project Management
  • CS1410 Java Program Development
  • CS3360 Software Project Management

I am interested in all aspects of software modelling and specially the application of model-driven techniques, during the development and operation of self-adaptive systems. I am particularly interested in what I call models@run.time, the use of models and model-driven techniques during runtime. Specific topics:

  • self-adaptive and autonomic systems
  • decision-making, uncertainty
  • models@run.time
  • model-driven engineering

EU Marie-Curie Fellowship(Grant) called Requirements@run.time: Requirements-aware Systems (May 2011-May2013)
  • ACM (since May 2008)
  • ACM SIGSOFT, IEEE (since 2008)
