My experience design is varied working in many different fields ranging from consumer electronics to cosmetics.  I have worked in most continents, travelling frequently as my roles have demanded.

The starting point for my career was at Swissphone, a reasonably sized European company who designed pagers.  I then went to work for Panasonic in Japan designing different types of electronic devices.  This position gave me an ideal platform to develop my skills, the company nurtures designers from infancy through to fully experienced senior members.

After working in Japan for 7 years I then went to work for Motorola in their UK studio.  As a senior member of the design team my work involved defining new products, experiences and collections that would help shape the company, expanding market share.  I spent 5 years at Motorola after which I decided to consult companies myself.  This move has allowed me to work on very diverse projects in all sizes of companies - in doing so I have become much more accomplished as a design professional.

I started lecturing at Aston in 2010 with a view to further broadening my skill set along with helping to develop newer generations of designers.  The position I hold is a visiting lecturer, adding the value to the course by delivering real world design experience (whilst I'm not lecturing I'm designing).
