I am a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Scientist with 30 years of experience of running a successful engineering consultancy business. Its portfolio includes aeromechanical, electromechanical, mechanical, nuclear, structural and vibration engineering, also design project management.
I was first appointed to the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Aston in Birmingham in 1995 as an Honorary Visiting Fellow.
I was then appointed as a Visiting Professor to the School of Engineering and Applied Science as Aston University in early 2009, subsequently as Industrial Professor to the School of Engineering and Applied Science in 2012.
Prior to my professorships at Aston University, I was appointed Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor to the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham in 2006, appointed Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor to the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Aston University in 2009, and also appointed Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor to the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sheffield in 2011.
Current focus of my institution activities involve engineering education and training in the UK and across the EU. Royal Academy of Engineering remits at both universities center upon Knowledge Transfer to SMEs in the engineering sector.
