Staff Email - Apple iOS Devices

The Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch support Microsoft Exchange for push-email and synchronising E-mail, Calendar and Contacts.  The following instructions have been written for iOS version 10.3

The University supports the use of the iPhone through University contracts on O2 and Vodafone. To purchase an iPhone, or any other mobile device, please read the mobile solutions purchasing page.

  1. If this is the first email account on your iPhone, tap Mail. Otherwise, tap Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account

  2. Tap Exchange

  3. Type in your Email ( and enter a Description, e.g. Work

  4. Tap Next on the upper-right corner of the screen.

  5. Now enter your Password and tap Next.

  6. It will now try to verify your email server settings.  If it is able to find the correct settings you can go to step 8.

  7. If your iPhone can’t find your settings, you will be prompted to enter a few more details:

    Domain: CAMPUS
    Username: your University username
    Password: your University password
  8. Choose the type of information you want to synchronize to your device, and then tap Save.

  9. If you're prompted to create a passcode, tap Continue and type a numeric passcode.  A passcode is necessary for you to use your email on your iPhone.

Your Exchange data will now sync with your device.  By default e-mail for the past week will sync to your device, if you wish to change this you can.

Setting Mail Days to Sync

  1. Settings > Mail > Accounts > Exchange Account
  2. Tap Mail Days to Sync
  3. Choose how much e-mail you would like to sync to your device

 Exchange Account will be what you entered as the description of the account when you added it to the device.
