Welcome to Aston University!

"We’re a diverse and friendly place and home to more than 3000 international students from across the world and many different backgrounds. This creates a vibrant campus and a great atmosphere. When you have spent a bit of time on our campus, you will find that you bump into people you know, no matter where you walk around on campus.

We are known as an enterprising university and our students work with real life projects and many of our undergraduate students undertake placements in industry, the professions or the public sector. This is a great springboard for successful careers in an international world of work.

We have an amazing global network of alumni and they reflect on how important the Aston learning experience has been for their subsequent careers and career progression. Hopefully, you too will find that an Aston degree and study experience sets you up for future success.

Global pathways

Aston University provides a range of opportunities for international students to join our community and study on our campus. A key part of our strategy is our relationships with teaching partners, providing multiple pathways to Aston.

International students can progress to a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees by studying a pathway programme at ONCAMPUS Aston, our International Pathway Centre.

ONCAMPUS Aston is based on our city centre campus in Birmingham, the UK’s second largest city.

Our partnership with NCUK and their network of global teaching centres provide opportunities for students to progress to a range of undergraduate courses, including options for Year 2 entry, as well as a Pre-Masters pathway.

My study experience at Aston was full of surprises, from the intensity of induction week, the approachability of teachers, to the nomination of studying abroad. I really consider myself one of the luckiest people in the world, and that luck could never be obtained if I didn’t choose Aston. I’ve shared my Master experience with so many friends in the UK, through which I strongly feel the programme design makes Aston’s Master stand out. It is definitely the most special programme that I know of. For those who would come to Aston to seek experience in your degree study, you will never regret it. Don’t panic, strive for it, and enjoy your time at Aston.

MSc Strategic Marketing Management

I chose Aston because of its highly reputed Business School position worldwide. Also, the PDP (Professional Development Programme) offered by the university alongside academic study helps us to explore our own professional development. Coming to Aston exposed me to so many diverse people from around the world. The best part of studying at Aston University was the helpful nature and the expertise of the course professors. I love living in the city of Birmingham, especially at Aston, because the location is placed right in the heart of Birmingham. You are close to the city centre, and all public transportation.

MSc Entrepreneurship and International Business

When I came across Aston, I was intrigued by the engineering programme and the optional modules that were offered. What surprised me most is the student-staff interaction here at Aston is very much encouraged. I remember being a part of the pre-arrival live-chat session with the programme director of the Mechanical Engineering course, and I knew that the staff here was going to care about my experience and education. Birmingham is an outstanding city, and the location of the campus makes it very convenient to go shopping and explore the city. My advice to future students is to please live on-campus! You will enjoy all of the facilities that the university has to offer as well as being really close to the centre, where numerous seasonal events occur all year round. Plus, you get to meet other international students, meaning it is easier to make friends.
