Advice on applying and preparing for your arrival

I chose Aston University due to its outstanding results from the TEF (Teaching Excellence Framework). Aston has one of the best reputations in the UK as a university. What surprised me was how easy-going and friendly the course directors and lecturers were. This really helps you relax and stay calm during the duration of the course. The staff overall have been really helpful with everything.

Nicholas Chen, Singapore
MSc Work Psychology and Business

I was most attracted to Aston University for its location, ranking, and triple accreditation. I was greatly surprised by Aston’s multiculturality as well as the openness and equality of its academics and course directors. I love that the campus is in the heart of Birmingham, so I can easily walk to the city centre, to the Bullring, restaurants, and the canals. I have met amazing friends from all over the world, which has been an enriching experience. Birmingham is a unique city; it has history, canals, and a blend of traditional and modern style. Plus, there is a mix of cultures that enrich the city’s flavour and lifestyle. Come to the city with an open mind, be ready to discover its secret places and meet friends from all over the world.

Annabelle Brenes Flores, Nicaragua
MSc International Business

I chose Aston University for its reputation in world-leading research in the field of photonic technologies. I was very happy to become a member of the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies, and after 3 years of studies now I can proudly say that I am an Aston graduate. The best parts of being an Aston University student are the quality of education and the academic and administrative facilities provided to every student. Moreover, being situated at the centre of Birmingham, Aston University always provides the vibe of internationalism and excitement. My advice to future students would be to come and build your future career here at Aston University, which cares the most for you.

Md Asif Iqbal, Bangladesh
PhD Electronic Engineering
