I joined the Aston audiology program full time in 2009 having worked for Aston on a part time basis for four years prior to this. Whilst working part time for Aston I was also the paediatric lead audiologist at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
I trained initially as an audiologist in Swindon in 1982 and following this left to take up a post with the Royal National Institute for the Deaf (RNID) in Gower Street in London. Having spent four years at the RNID I then left to work for Boots Hearing Care and spent nearly 2 years setting up and running private hearing aid dispensing services in the Southwest of the UK. I returned to Swindon in 1991 to lead the paediatric audiology service where I spent 18 years prior to the full time move to Aston.
