Konstantinos Plisiotis completed his Bachelor degree in English Language and Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2014 and continued his studies successfully completing an MA in Translation at the Hellenic American University in 2015 with first class honours. Additionally, he has worked as a professional translator and EFL teacher.
He is currently based in Aston University, where he is working on his research, entitled (Re)shaping Greece through Translation: Nation and Identity in Tourism and Culture, having received a fully-funded studentship. Initiating research from a Translation Studies point of view, Konstantinos aims at investigating the narratives disseminated through online texts on tourism and culture and the ways these texts can possibly (re)formulate the Greek national identity. Secondarily, questions of ideology, power, politics and branding are also going to be in the focus of his research.
In 2017-2018, Konstantinos is teaching module LI2010 Communication across Languages and Cultures.
