From Babbage to Lasers

Charles Babbage is credited with inventing the ophthalmoscope in 1847, and for over 120 years this single instrument transformed our understanding of the human eye and body, in health and disease. Today we have access to a huge array of fundus imaging modalities and this talk will describe how they are currently helping ophthalmologists treat and prevent blinding disorders and looks forward to exciting developments in retinal imaging in the future.
