Caroline originally studied Modern Languages at Oxford, before reporting on Spanish politics and the economy during the height of the global financial crisis. She spent over six years in total living, studying and working in Spain at various stages before joining Aston and has a PhD on nationalist politics in the Basque Country and Catalonia from the University of Liverpool.
