Students develop business skills at IBM’s Smart Cube

IBM

21 March 2013

Aston University was selected as one of 19 European Universities to host IBM's  The Smarter Planet Cube.

The giant technological Cube was based on Aston’s campus on 20 March as part of IBM’s academic initiative scheme.  The technology giant aims to introduce the skills required to enable students to get involved with real-world opportunities for change.

The Smarter Planet Cube has been designed to help students and start-ups understand what it takes to make the planet smarter. Aston students were able to visit the mobile exhibits to test their knowledge against the IBM supercomputer, to talk about IBM graduate opportunities and internships, and to enjoy refreshments, competitions and prizes.

The Smarter Planet Comes to You tour will be visiting 19 selected European Universities between March to May 2013, to help students and business start-ups to develop their skills and influence positive change in business.
