Pinewood Technologies are set to sponsor the course for the second year running. The module, delivered to second year BSc Marketing students, is concerned with Business to Business Marketing and Personal Selling and Sales Management.
The technology company, which specialises in creating Management Systems for car dealerships, has a long association with Aston Business School. Pinewood’s Director, Steve Meadows, and Chris Caines, the firm’s Marketing Executive, are both Aston alumni and the company employs a number of Aston placement students and graduates each year.
As part of the Business Marketing and Relationship module in the last academic year, students undertook a project to develop a marketing and distribution strategy for an overseas Business to Business company launching into the UK market. They then had to deliver a presentation on their B2B Marketing Strategy which was judged by Steve and Chris, and which counts toward their assessment.
The winning group was made up of Robert Boer, Viktoria Kostova, Hilda Lee, Xixi Peng and Philip White.

Speaking about the presentations, Chris Caines said: “The standard of presentations from students on this course continues to remain high. This year we saw a noticeable increase in the proficiency displayed in responding to questions fielded, confirming their clarity and depth of understanding, and their unity as presenting groups. We’re proud of our association to the course, and look forward to supporting students in 2014/15."
The Business Marketing and Relationship Management module is taught on Aston Business School’s BSc Marketing programme, voted 8th in in the Complete University Guide 2014.
