BYPY winner to share secrets of success

Katie Kershaw

17 November 2015

The winner of Birmingham’s Young Professional of the Year 2015 will give an insight into what it’s like to be involved in the early phase of a high risk venture at Aston Business School as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (16 to 22 November).

Urban designer and heritage consultant, Katie Kershaw, director of Birmingham-based consultancy Node Urban Design, will share her experience of making the jump from relative security to a new, high risk venture at Aston Business Network on Wednesday 18 November.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest campaign to promote entrepreneurship. Each year, it plays a critical role in encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs to consider starting up their own business.

This year’s theme, “make it happen”, is intended to inspire people to do one thing to become more entrepreneurial.  To underline this, Katie will be encouraging participants to move out of their comfort zone.

Katie explained: “My best days are days when  I've tried something new. It  doesn't matter if it  didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted. You need to get more comfortable being uncomfortable,  because that’s the only way you actually grow as a person.”
