“We have consistently performed above average in the NSS over the past four years. This combined with recently being named as the second best institution in the country for quality of teaching by Times Higher Education in its recent analysis of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) confirms that we are truly among the best universities in the country.”
The NSS 2016 is a widely-respected consensus of nearly half a million students across the UK. The national UK average for first degree student satisfaction was 86 per cent.
The questionnaire asks 22 core questions on several aspects of university life, including teaching, learning resources, assessment and feedback, and personal development.
Full coverage of the NSS results can be found on the Times Higher Education website, which has for the first time included Foundation Degrees as part of its analysis. Taking this additional data into account, Aston achieved an overall satisfaction score of 88 per cent – which remains above the national average.
