After winning an Olympic gold aged 20, Searle’s journey to victory at the London 2012 games - 20 years later - is one of tenacity, honesty and determination.
He will be sharing his insights into personal leadership and goal setting at this MBA “taster” seminar. The session will give participants the chance to reflect on the performance environment they inhabit and do some goal setting to help shape their careers.
Greg said: “Having spent 15 years as an executive coach, I was a much smarter athlete in 2012. I realized I needed to adapt and work more effectively within a team environment if I was to fulfil my potential this time. This involved becoming less egocentric and seeking to understand team mates and coaches in order to grow trusting relationships.
“Over my three years in Team GB, I worked hard to develop effective relationships with the rest of the team. Closer in age to my coaches than my team mates, I had to know when to lead and when to be a great follower!”
The seminar will run from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm and will be followed by a light lunch and opportunity to network with members of the MBA team from Aston Business School.
