The stakes are the highest ever at this year’s Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) Awards, after Aston University announced it will offer the overall winner a fully-funded scholarship worth nearly £20,000 to study for an Executive MBA at Aston Business School.

It’s a killer combination – securing a title that unlocks access to the most influential circles in business while gaining an inventory of skills and knowledge that will put you in a position to become a great business leader. This from a triple-accredited business school that features in the top one per cent worldwide offering one of the world’s top MBAs as ranked by CEO Magazine.

But that’s not all. By enrolling onto the Aston MBA, the winner will receive training for the more elusive, social and personal side of business delivered by experts in behavioural science as part of the Aston Edge programme, exclusive lifetime access to a network of 3,000 other Aston MBAs, and one-to-one access to a careers consultant with 15 years of international corporate and financial experience.

The Executive MBA is part-time and tailored to fit around professional life. The winner will learn over a longer period through online workshops as well as weekend residentials at Aston Business School.

Professor George Feiger, Executive Dean of Aston Business School, said: “Aston Business School and BYPY Awards have the privilege of working with networks of excellent professionals. We are committed to supporting BYPY and the candidates in its competition. This year, we are offering the winner the reward of an opportunity to obtain an MBA from our triple accredited school.”

Applicants for BYPY, which is BPS Birmingham Future’s flagship awards, now celebrating its 17th year, can be nominated by a peer or individuals can apply themselves. All applicants will be considered equally. There are six award categories: Finance; HR, Recruitment and Training; Legal; Marketing & Communications; Property and Construction; and Technology. The awards also recognise a stand-out individual aged between 16 and 24 as the city’s ‘Aspiring Talent’, and honour an ‘Inspiring Leader’; someone who has shown unwavering commitment to the city, from across the professional services community.

Mike Colledge, Committee Chair for BYPY 2017, said: “BYPY showcases the best talent that the city’s professional services sector has to offer, and we’re excited to be able to offer this year’s winner a fully-funded Executive MBA from Aston University. BYPY helps to develop people both personally and professionally, and by partnering with Aston Business School, our winner will be able to take their development to the next level with a world-class MBA.”

To apply, you must be aged 35 or under on 18 May 2017, and be available on the dates noted below for judging day, as well as the awards ceremony itself.
