Information for staff

Procurements mission is to procure products and services ethically, compliantly, sustainable and responsibly whilst delivering Value for Money and respecting the University’s overarching mission.

Procurements vision is to be the central point within the University for all procurement guidance and support, ensuring all procurement activity is conducted ethically and in compliance with internal procurement thresholds in addition to UK and EU legislation.

Departmental Overview
The Central Procurement Team supports the University’s strategy by working with staff and Suppliers to optimise the procurement of goods, works and services. We achieve this and the strategic aims of the Procurement Strategy by being responsible for:

  • Managing central contracts for main area expenditure;
  • Procurement of all above EU threshold contracts;
  • Development of guidance, tools and templates for procurement needs that reflect current best practice;
  • Development and delivery of all procurement related training to internal stakeholders;
  • Management and monitoring of a defined range of contracts and Supplier relationships;
  • Management of the University’s relationship with external procurement consortia;
  • Advice and support on all matters relating to procurement.
