Entry requirements 

For graduates with a previous qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunication Engineering, Physics or a related discipline. Applicants whose native language is not English will be required to provide evidence of an English language qualification. You can view our English language policy here

Aston University only - 1 year programme

Start date: September Duration: 12 months full-time UK/EU: £7,600 (2020/21 fee)

International: £16,000 (2020/21 fee)

This page is for the non-Erasmus, Aston University only, PIXNET training pathway, leading to a standard MSc qualification (180 credits). There is also a PIXNET is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree programme supported by European Union funding

Both programmes are aimed at training talented students to become capable of designing, realising and assessing innovative integrated devices based on photonic technologies. As well as being of academic importance, the programme is an interdisciplinary, multinational initiative to train telecommunication and electrical engineers to investigate the adoption of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC) as the central element in the evolution of information and communication devices. 

The strong involvement of industrial partners in the programme will offer you the opportunity to bridge the gap between your academic knowledge and practical application. You will be encouraged to carry out a number of industrial visits to enhance your MSc project.
