Name: Amman Kaur Atwal
Programme: MSc Work Psychology & Business
Nationality: British

I am a BSc Psychology graduate from the University of Birmingham. I have gained work experience in Human Resources within BT and BP. In addition, upon completion of my degree I obtained a Learning & Development Internship at Cancer Research UK. Subsequently, I obtained the position of Learning & Development Assistant at the national law firm Browne Jacobson LLP.

I have a keen interest in psychology coupled with a passion for business and felt that work psychology was the ultimate fit for me. I enjoy learning about human behaviour and how to make people more effective in the workplace.

I applied to Aston Business School not only because of its world class reputation, excellence in research and academic merit, but also because of the vibrant community of students and alumni that it provides access to. I enjoy working in this stimulating environment and believe that I can make a valid contribution.

I believe that pursuing postgraduate education at Aston Business School is the best stepping stone for my future career as an Occupational Psychologist.

My favourite experience of Aston so far would be getting to know new and interesting people. I have benefited from the diverse international culture here at Aston as I have participated in group work with a mixture of people who are from different parts of the world. I have gained valuable skills in the modules I have been taught so far.

I aim to become a Business Psychologist with long term plans to become a Chartered Occupational Psychology. This MSc is the first stage in allowing me to become Chartered. Without this qualification, I wouldn't be able to.

This MSc will provide me with the skills and tools necessary to have a fulfilling career as an expert within my chosen field.
