The School of Social Sciences and Humanities had 100% of its REF submission for Modern Languages and Linguistics rated at 4* or 3* for research environment, ranking Aston joint 1st in the UK. Our Area Studies submission was ranked 5th in the UK in the 2014 REF rankings. Our belief is that research should always be practical, relevant and feedback into your education.
