A fantastic way for Year 12, 13 and Level 3 students to experience their chosen degree course or profession for the day. Through a variety of interactive workshops, classroom discussions, laboratory sessions and lectures students can learn more about studying and applying for their chosen subject.

‘Pharmacy Study Day’ This event has now passed. We will announce the 2019 date for this event in the Summer.

Through interactive workshops and lectures, students can learn more about studying and applying for Pharmacy at Aston University. Maximum ten places per school/college. 


'Optometry Study Day’ This event has now passed. We will announce the 2019 date for this event in the Summer.

Students can become an Optometrist for the day, discovering more about studying and applying for Optometry at Aston University.  Maximum ten places per school/college.

succeed in business? Aston University Business Study Day Wednesday 12th December, 9.15am - 3.00pm

Aston University's Business Study Day is a fantastic opportunity for Year 12 and 13 students to gain insight into Aston University and it's global business school. Through interactive subject taster sessions in Business Management, Human Resource Management, Economics and Law, students will learn more about applying to, and studying for, a business degree at university and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in the world of business. The day will consist of four interactive subject taster sessions as well as a guest speaker session on the skills of entrepreneurship.

'Game on!' - An Introduction to Undergraduate Computer Science' Wednesday 24th – Friday 26th April 2019, 9:30am - 5pm

This three day, non-residential, Computer Science course is for Year 12 students studying Computer Science or Mathematics who may be considering a future in the Computing, Communication, Business Systems or Games sectors and want to explore their Higher Education options further. Students will experience sample lectures, providing an overview of a selection of some of the interesting and varied topics covered by a Computer Science degree. They will also hear from people who have studied Computer Science at university and be able to chat to them about their respective careers in computer-related industries.  Finally, students will work in teams on a software development project which will allow novice and experienced programmers alike to tackle real-world problems and generate exciting solutions. Teams will formally present their project deliverables at the end of the course: parents/guardians and other family members are invited (and encouraged) to attend. Student attendance is compulsory on all three days.


'Psychology and Neuroscience Study Day’ Wednesday 3rd April 2019, 10.30am – 2.30pm    **This Study Day is now fully booked. If you would like to be added to the waiting list please complete the booking form. **

A chance for students to find out more about the exciting fields of Psychology and Neuroscience. Year 12 & 13 students will get the chance to experience studying and applying for Psychology and Neuroscience at Aston University, explore our facilities and meet our current undergraduate students. Maximum ten places per school/college. 


'Biology Study Day' Wednesday 10th April 2019, 10:00am - 3:30pm 

Students can discover more about studying Molecular Biology at Aston University through classroom discussions and interactive laboratory sessions. Maximum ten places per school/college.  


Economics - Engaging, Exciting …and for Everyone Wednesday 19th June 2019, 9:30am - 4:00pm

Royal Economic Society

Aspiring economics students are invited to join Aston University and the Royal Economic Society for a special event exploring what it is like to study economics at university.

The event will give Year 12 students from Birmingham schools an insight into university style teaching with a focus on interactive sessions exploring current economic issues. Students will have the opportunity to learn from leading Aston academics and economics graduates who are established in their careers.

There will also be an opportunity to experience panel discussions, debates and Q&A sessions with prominent Aston academics as well as government and industry economics experts.

Please note: this event is only open to schools based in the Birmingham area. Timings and event details are subject to change.
