An Aimhigher Mentor involves undergraduate students mentoring students from widening participation backgrounds in local secondary schools for 12 weeks. The focus for the mentoring is to encourage students to break down any barriers that may be preventing them from considering higher education as an option. As a mentor you will provide personal information, advice and guidance on educational and career pathways, you will build important skills, help raise attainment and build aspirations for the future.
Through face to face sessions with 5 learners between the ages of 11-18, you will develop valuable employability skills, work experience and earn money throughout the process. It is a perfect way to build your CV and give back to your local community. You will also gain full training and a comprehensive DBS check. If you are interested in the role apply here.
